Privacy policy
Last updated
This policy covers Highland Vans and this website. It says what leaves your browser, who receives it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
This site is a set of static files. There is no account to create, nothing to pay for here, and no server of ours between you and the page. Two things therefore leave the page, and the rest of this document is about those two: what you send us when you get in touch, and what we measure about how the site is used.
When you get in touch
The inquiry widget on the homepage and on the contact page is Pipedrive, the customer system we run the business on.
Nothing is requested from Pipedrive until you ask for it. The widget loads no Pipedrive script and no Pipedrive calendar until you have chosen what your inquiry is about and how you want to be reached, which is two deliberate clicks. If you read the page and scroll past, no request reaches Pipedrive and no Pipedrive cookie is set.
Once you have chosen, the form or the calendar is Pipedrive's own, rendered in a frame we do not control. What you type goes directly to Pipedrive. It does not pass through a server of ours, because we do not have one.
We use what you send to answer you about the thing you asked about. We do not sell it and we do not rent it. We do not share it outside the company, except where doing the thing you asked for needs it.
Unless you ask us not to, we may email you later about new models, services, or a change to this policy. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
What we measure
We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and which parts of them get used. It records a page view, and five things a reader can do:
- Clicking the phone number
- Clicking the email address
- Opening the inquiry widget
- Opening a booking calendar
- Arriving on the confirmation page after sending an inquiry
None of those records who you are. They record that something happened and on which page. Your name, your email address and anything you typed into an inquiry are not in them, because the inquiry goes to Pipedrive rather than through the page.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser. We do not run a tag manager, we run no advertising or profiling scripts, and there is no pixel on this site belonging to any social network.
Cookies, and how to refuse them
This site shows no cookie banner. We would rather tell you plainly what is set than ask you to dismiss a box.
The cookies come from Google Analytics, described above. Your browser can block them or delete them, and every browser has a setting for it. Google also publishes a browser add-on that switches Google Analytics off everywhere, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Refusing them costs you nothing on this site. Every page works the same way without them.
Who else the page talks to, and when
Four third parties can be reached from these pages. Two load with the page and two load only when you ask for them.
| Where it appears | When it loads | Cookies | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Every page | With the page | Yes |
| Google Maps | The contact page | With the page | No, checked in the response |
| Pipedrive | The homepage and the contact page | Only after you pick a topic and a channel | Yes, once it loads |
| YouTube | Pages carrying a film | Only when you press play | Nothing is requested until then |
Links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest and X appear in the footer. They are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from any of those sites unless you follow one.
What this site does not do
- It takes no payment and asks for no card details.
- It has no accounts and no logins.
- It runs no advertising, retargeting or profiling scripts.
- It has no server of ours receiving anything you type.
Keeping it safe
Every page is served over HTTPS, so what passes between your browser and the site is encrypted.
An inquiry goes straight to Pipedrive rather than to a machine of ours. Inside the company, the people who can read it are the people who need it to answer you.
What you can ask us to do
Get in touch by phone or email, and we will do any of these:
- Tell you what we hold about you, if anything
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete what we hold
- Stop contacting you
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, tell us and we will deal with it.
Changes to this policy
This policy changes when what the site does changes. Every version is posted on this page, and the date at the top says when it was last written.
