Nationwide Service Support
Serviceable anywhere — and our shop takes any van, whoever built it.
Nationwide Serviceability.No Proprietary Traps.
We build expedition-grade vehicles designed to survive the harshest conditions. But when you’re living off-grid, you need to know that if the unexpected happens, you’re fully supported. At Highland Vans, we combine transparent, industry-leading warranties with an engineering philosophy that ensures your van can be serviced wherever the trail takes you.
Many premium van builders trap you in their ecosystem by using proprietary wiring systems or complex, hidden components that only their specific dealers can fix. We believe that is a fatal flaw for an off-grid vehicle.
Highland Vans are engineered for ultimate serviceability. By using open-architecture Victron electrical systems, accessible plumbing channels, and standardized marine-grade components, any certified RV technician or marine electrician in all 50 states can diagnose and service your van. You are never chained to a specific dealership or forced to drive back to Chicago for a standard repair.
Highland HQ Service Center
For customers in the Midwest, or those passing through on a cross-country trip, our Elk Grove Village manufacturing center doubles as a dedicated service hub. Annual inspections, electrical and plumbing diagnostics, winterization, HVAC and suspension work, and new premium add-ons — on the vans we built, and on the ones we did not.

Can you service a van you didn’t build?
Yes. Our Elk Grove Village shop services and upgrades camper vans from other builders, subject to an inspection of the existing systems. Electrical and plumbing work, HVAC, winterization, annual inspections, suspension and roof work, and add-on installs are all on the menu — and it’s a great way to experience our work firsthand.

Service Questions
Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?
Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.
What regular maintenance does the conversion need?
Less than you’d think, but not zero: an annual systems inspection (covering electrical, plumbing, HVAC, seals, and hardware torque), winterization if you store the van in freezing temperatures, an annual Webasto heater service, and periodic checks of water, power, and roof seals. Our HQ service center handles all of it — most owners pair the annual visit with an add-on install or upgrade.
Do you work on Ford Transits and RAM ProMasters?
Yes — service and upgrades, the same as any Sprinter-based van. Bring us a Transit or a ProMaster and the same shop that builds our own vans will work on yours, subject to an inspection of the existing systems.
The full list of platforms we take is in Platforms We Upgrade above.
