Built for Carolina heat and Blue Ridge nights

Charlotte sits between the beach and the mountains, and a van that does both has to run cool and warm. The Pro package adds RecPro air conditioning for a humid July, and a Webasto diesel heater is standard for a frosty morning near Boone.

The insulation that makes both work is the same on every build: Thinsulate in the roof and walls, rigid XPS foam under the floor.

Every camper van for sale on this page starts from one of three Sprinter layouts, each sold as Core or Pro. As a van builder, Highland Vans builds standard layouts rather than one-off customs, and each layout is a Class B RV. From Elk Grove Village to Charlotte

Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. The drive home runs through Indiana and Ohio, over the mountains of West Virginia and down into the Carolina Piedmont.

Trips from Charlotte

Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway are the mountain weekend, and the forest roads in Pisgah are gravel and steep in places, which is what the AWD Sprinter is for.

For a family, the Kinabalu has four belted seats. For a couple, the Parbat adds the interior shower cabin for a week at the coast.

Is there a Highland Vans showroom in Charlotte?

No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.

Can I see a van before I travel?

Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.

Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?

Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.

How long does a build take?

Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.

Does the price include the van itself?

Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion.
