Indiana gets a real winter and a humid summer, and every build is insulated for both, with Thinsulate in the roof and walls and XPS under the floor. The Webasto diesel heater is standard, and the Pro package adds RecPro air conditioning.
For a van parked through the winter rather than used, winterization is on the service menu.

From Elk Grove Village to Indianapolis
Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. From Indianapolis the drive runs north through Indiana and around the south side of Chicago to Elk Grove Village, so a tour of the production floor is a drive rather than a flight.
Trips from Indianapolis
Brown County and the Indiana Dunes are the close trips. The Smokies and the Upper Peninsula are the long ones, in opposite directions.
The Aoraki's rear garage takes the bikes for Brown County's trails, and the Kinabalu's four belted seats take a family to the Dunes.

Can I drive to the shop for the design visit?
Yes. The design centre visit and the facility tour are both booked online, and from Indianapolis the shop is a drive. Pickup day is at the same shop, with the orientation walkthrough before you leave.
Is there a Highland Vans showroom in Indianapolis?
No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.
Can I see a van before I travel?
Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.
Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?
Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.
How long does a build take?
Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.
Does the price include the van itself?
Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion.
