Camper Vans for Salt Lake City and Utah

Every Highland Van is built in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and there is no Utah showroom. Salt Lake City buyers fly in to collect the van and drive it home over the Rockies, or ask for a quote on enclosed transport.

Built for desert days and Wasatch winters

Utah is two climates on one map: the red rock desert in the south and the snow of the Wasatch above the city. Every build carries a Webasto diesel heater and four-season insulation as standard, and the Pro package adds RecPro air conditioning.

The platform is the AWD Sprinter on every model, for a snowy canyon road in January or sand on the way to a trailhead near Moab.

Camper vans for sale to Salt Lake City buyers

Every camper van for sale on this page starts from one of three Sprinter layouts, each sold as Core or Pro. As a van builder, Highland Vans builds standard layouts rather than one-off customs, and each layout is a Class B RV. The price covers the complete vehicle, including the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter it is built on.

From Elk Grove Village to Salt Lake City

Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. Prefer it brought to you? We can also arrange enclosed transport nationwide — ask for a quote.

The drive home is the northern interstate most of the way, across Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming, then down out of the mountains into the Salt Lake Valley.

Trips from Salt Lake City

Moab, Zion and the other national parks in the south of the state are the desert trips. The Uintas and the ski canyons are the mountain ones.

The Parbat is built for weeks off-grid, which is what a week between Canyonlands and Capitol Reef asks of a van.

Questions from Salt Lake City buyers

Is there a Highland Vans showroom in Salt Lake City?

No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.

Can I see a van before I travel?

Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.

Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?

Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.

How long does a build take?

Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.

Does the price include the van itself?

Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion. The only things not included are tax, title, registration, and any add-ons you select. (Already own a Sprinter? We quote those conversions individually — see “Can you convert a van I already own?”)
