Highland Vans is a Sprinter van conversion company with one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and it converts new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters there. It has no location in Texas: Dallas buyers fly in to collect the finished van, or ask for a quote on enclosed transport.
Built for North Texas heat
Heat is the Dallas problem, and the conversion answers it in layers. The roof and walls carry Thinsulate and the floor rigid XPS foam, which slows the sun's heat through the steel body as well as holding warmth in.
The Pro package adds RecPro air conditioning. The Parbat is the one roof that fits air conditioning and a rooftop tent together, for a buyer who wants both.

From Elk Grove Village to Dallas
Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. The drive home runs south through Missouri and Oklahoma and across the Red River into North Texas, a straight run on the interstate that suits a first trip in a new van.
Trips from Dallas
The weekend trips are the lakes, the Wichita Mountains across the Red River and the Hill Country to the south. The long trip is west, to Big Bend or the mountains of New Mexico.
If the van is also the everyday vehicle, the Aoraki has the easiest daily-driver footprint in the lineup. If it is an adventure rig beside a daily car, the Parbat is built for weeks off-grid.

Is there a Highland Vans showroom in Dallas?
No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.
Can I see a van before I travel?
Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.
Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?
Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.
Can you convert a van I already own?
Yes. If you already own a Mercedes Sprinter high-roof, the layout follows the wheelbase: the Aoraki and the Kinabalu are 144” builds and the Parbat is a 170” build — and your conversion is covered by the same 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty as every Highland build. Since our published prices include a new chassis, customer-supplied vans are quoted individually: contact us with your van’s year, mileage, and condition and we’ll put together a conversion quote.
How long does a build take?
Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.
Does the price include the van itself?
Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion.
