Highland Vans is a Sprinter van conversion company that converts every van at one shop in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. There is no Florida location. Miami buyers fly in to collect the van, or ask for a quote on enclosed transport.
In Florida the question is heat and humidity for most of the year, not cold. The Pro package adds RecPro air conditioning, and the insulated roof, walls and floor slow the sun's heat through the steel body.
The Webasto diesel heater still comes standard, for the trip north.
Every camper van for sale on this page starts from one of three Sprinter layouts, each sold as Core or Pro. As a van builder, Highland Vans builds standard layouts rather than one-off customs, and each layout is a Class B RV. The price covers the complete vehicle, including the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter it is built on.

The 144” layout that prioritizes a real bed and a real garage. Murphy bed, 5’+ of rear cargo space, and the easiest daily-driver footprint in the lineup.

The 144” van that’s also the family car. Four belted seats, a rear dinette that converts to a day bed, and the optional TV/game console package no other model offers

Our 170” extended off-grid rig. Interior shower cabin, dinette plus Murphy bed, and the only roof that fits AC and a rooftop tent together, with the tent as an upgrade.

Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. Prefer it brought to you? We can also arrange enclosed transport nationwide — ask for a quote.
The drive home runs the length of the eastern half of the country: Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia, then down the Florida peninsula.
The Keys, the Everglades and the Gulf coast are the Florida trips. The Smokies are the drive north when the summer gets too hot.
The Parbat carries an interior shower cabin and an outdoor shower, which suits a beach day. The Kinabalu's four belted seats suit a family.
No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.
Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.
Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.
Yes. If you already own a Mercedes Sprinter high-roof, the layout follows the wheelbase: the Aoraki and the Kinabalu are 144” builds and the Parbat is a 170” build — and your conversion is covered by the same 3-year / 36,000-mile warranty as every Highland build. Since our published prices include a new chassis, customer-supplied vans are quoted individually: contact us with your van’s year, mileage, and condition and we’ll put together a conversion quote.
Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.
Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion. The only things not included are tax, title, registration, and any add-ons you select. (Already own a Sprinter? We quote those conversions individually — see “Can you convert a van I already own?”)
