Camper Vans for Wisconsin, Built One State South
Highland Vans builds at one shop in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, on the north-west side of Chicago. There is no showroom in Wisconsin, so buyers drive down for the design visit and again on pickup day.
Built for a Wisconsin winter
Every build carries the same four-season insulation package: 3M Thinsulate in the roof and walls, and rigid XPS foam under the floor. A Webasto diesel heater is standard, so a January night at a state park campground does not depend on a hookup.
The water lines are insulated as well. If the van spends the off-season parked in freezing temperatures rather than on the road, winterization is on the shop's service menu.
Camper vans for sale to Wisconsin buyers
Every camper van for sale on this page starts from one of three Sprinter layouts, each sold as Core or Pro. As a van builder, Highland Vans builds standard layouts rather than one-off customs, and each layout is a Class B RV. The price covers the complete vehicle, including the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter it is built on.

Aoraki
The 144” layout that prioritizes a real bed and a real garage. Murphy bed, 5’+ of rear cargo space, and the easiest daily-driver footprint in the lineup.
- Starting MSRP
- $145,000

Kinabalu
The 144” van that’s also the family car. Four belted seats, a rear dinette that converts to a day bed, and the optional TV/game console package no other model offers

- $150,000

Parbat
Our 170” extended off-grid rig. Interior shower cabin, dinette plus Murphy bed, and the only roof that fits AC and a rooftop tent together, with the tent as an upgrade.

From Elk Grove Village to Wisconsin
Many of our owners are not local. We’re in Elk Grove Village, IL — 15 minutes from O’Hare — and many buyers fly in, do a full orientation walkthrough at the shop, and drive their van home as the first road trip. Prefer it brought to you? We can also arrange enclosed transport nationwide — ask for a quote.
From Madison or Milwaukee the drive to the shop stays on the interstate and comes around the north-west side of Chicago, so the design visit and pickup day are a drive rather than a flight.
Trips from Wisconsin
Door County, the Apostle Islands and the Northwoods all end on gravel sooner or later. The AWD Sprinter is the platform under every model, which matters on a forest road after rain or the first snow.
A family bound for the Dells fits the Kinabalu, with four belted seats and a rear dinette that converts to a day bed. A couple who fish or ski fits the Aoraki, which puts a real garage behind the bed for the gear.
Questions from Wisconsin buyers
Can the van stay outside through a Wisconsin winter?
It is built for cold use: four-season insulation, insulated water lines and a diesel heater come on every build. For a van parked in freezing temperatures and not used, the service menu includes winterization, so the water system is drained before the frost gets to it.
Is there a Highland Vans showroom in Wisconsin?
No. There is one shop, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, 15 minutes from O’Hare, and every van is designed, built and handed over there.
Can I see a van before I travel?
Start with a conversation on the contact page: an e-mail, a video call, or a visit to the shop. A video call covers the layouts, the options and the price before you book a flight, and the facility tour and the design centre visit are there when you come in.
Do I have to come back to Chicago for warranty work?
Not necessarily. Call us first: for covered repairs away from Chicago, we’ll pre-authorize a certified RV technician or marine electrician near you and pay for the approved work directly — no paying out of pocket and waiting on reimbursement. Because we build with open-architecture, standardized components, local techs can handle most jobs.
How long does a build take?
Two answers. If a van in our inventory matches the spec you want, it’s available for immediate purchase — ask what’s on the floor right now. If not, a typical build takes about three months from reserving your build slot, and we’ll confirm your delivery window when you reserve. Either way, because we build standard layouts rather than one-off customs, you’re not waiting in a year-long custom queue.
Does the price include the van itself?
Yes. Pricing on this page covers the complete vehicle — the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter high-roof chassis and the full Highland Vans conversion. The only things not included are tax, title, registration, and any add-ons you select. (Already own a Sprinter? We quote those conversions individually — see “Can you convert a van I already own?”)
